Teen Leaders Weekend

PURPOSE:
To provide 4-H members personal development experiences to help them better understand themselves, and display more personal confidence when assuming leadership positions and when taking part in Charting workshops.
WHO:
West Virginia 4 H members: participant age range is 13 – 19 and participants may not be beyond their 1st year in college.

COST:
The cost is TBD per person for returning attendees, $75 for first time attendees.

REGISTRATION:
The registration postmark deadline for Teen Leader and Charting Weekend is Friday, January 18, 2013. There is an additional $20 late registration fee for all registration material received after the deadline.
Arriving at the Mill:
The Weekend registration is 6:30-8:00 PM on Friday. Camp closes at 10:00 AM on Sunday.
Registration at Jackson’s Mill will start at 6:30pm. Participants will report to Harrison Cottage Assembly to complete the registration process and meet the nurse. Participants will then report to their assigned cottage. Each participant will be sent a letter of confirmation listing their cottage assignment prior to the event.
COUNTY RESPONSIBILITY:
Each county that has youth participating in Teen Leader Weekend will be allowed to send one adult (Extension staff and/or chaperone) for free. All additional adults must pay for the weekend. It is highly encouraged that all Extension staff that are able to use their travel budget do so. Include Registration Form and Health Form for all chaperones.
Each participant will select a 1st and 2nd choice for each track as shown on the registration form. S/he will rotate between the three workshops indicated under the track description. There will be an opportunity to participate in non-track related activities in the afternoon during LEOs (Leisure Education Opportunities). Registration and Health form must be completed and have signatures.
Counties must have all participant’s and chaperon’s paper Registration and Health form postmarked and mailed by Friday, January 18, 2013 to C/O 2012 TLW, Lindsey Kalivoda-Hartley, 618 Knapp Hall, PO Box 6031, Morgantown, WV 26506-6031.
REFUND POLICY:
Request for refunds must be made in writing and faxed, postmarked or e-mailed to: Lindsey Kalivoda-Hartley, 618 Knapp Hall, PO Box 6031, Morgantown, WV 26506-6031, or (304) 293-7599 by February 1, 2013. NO REFUNDS will be made for no-shows. (There is a $15 refund processing fee. No refunds will be made for amounts less than $15 after deduction of the processing fee.)
