PURPOSES:
To develop leadership among older 4 H members through opportunities to discuss timely issues and problems.

To teach new skills that can be used in local clubs and communities.

WHO:
West Virginia 4 H members entering 9th grade and recommended by the county Extension office.

WHEN:
June 17-23, 2012

Pre camp, by invitation, begins Saturday, June 16, 2012, 2:00 PM.

WHERE:
WVU Jackson’s Mill

COST:
$260. Scholarships are available for 4 H’ers meeting the pre registration postmark deadline.

The OMC scholarship is $75. Pre-camp attendees will have their pre-camp costs paid by the Leadership Fund. Campers that qualify for free and reduced lunch will receive an additional $30 Scholarship. A free/reduced form must accompany the OMC application to qualify.

REGISTRATION:
Pre registration postmark deadline is Friday, May 18, 2012.

Camp registration is 12:30-2:30 PM, Sunday, June 17; camp closes at 11:30 AM, Saturday,
June 23.

PROGRAM:
Each morning campers will be involved in presentations and discussion of topics current to today’s youths. Afternoon workshops are selected from those listed on the following page and others developed by the planning committee. Encourage members from your county to enroll in different workshops so you can have a wider range of experiences coming back to the county.

Pre camp – 25 4 H members who participated in OMC last year will be invited to serve as discussion leaders. The training will include small group skills and understanding and dealing with various small group behaviors. The camp director and coordinator will contact counties with selected members by May 1, 2012.

CANCELLATION/REFUNDS:
Cancellations must be made in writing and e-mailed/faxed/postmarked to WVU Extension Service by Monday, June 1, 2012. There is a $15 processing fee for all refunds. NO REFUNDS FOR NO SHOWS!!!
