4-H Back to Basics Camping Weekend

Purpose:
The Back to Basics camps are designed to introduce participants to the great outdoors. No prior experience necessary. WVUES 4-H will provide all of the camping equipment needed for this adventure. Participants will learn valuable backcountry living skills including Leave no Trace ethics, backpacking, fire building, fishing, camp stove and camp fire cooking. Each camp may have a different shooting sports activity and/or canoeing and kayaking class based on the Camp Staff’s skills and certifications.

Location:

WVU Jackson’s Mill back woods

Cost:

$45 for 2 night stays (Friday through Sunday)
$35 for 1night only stay (Friday through Saturday)

Dates:

June 2-3, 2017—Leadership Training for OEL, Agents—Registration is 1:00pm in the Administration Conference Room and will wrap up around 4:00pm Saturday

June 15-17, 2017—Ages 14-17—(camping, fishing, TBD) Registration is 3:30-4pm

July 28-29, 2017—Ages 12-14—(camping, fishing, TBD) Registration is 2-2:30pm

August 4-6, 2017—Ages 14-17—(camping, fishing, TBD) Registration is 3:30-4pm

October 28-29, 2017—Service Work Weekend for Agents, ECI, OEL, STEM, and Collegiate 4-H members (camping, fishing, Tomahawk and knife throwing) Registration is 3:30-4pm
